Join our Cardiology Team! Woodlawn is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team!
The ideal candidate would have experience in Cardiology setting & would need to be able to assist with stress tests, as well as pose an understanding of cardiovascular disease. The right candidate should have the ability to plan, organize, & prioritize work in a multi-task environment, where interruptions may be frequent. This position is full-time, Monday-Friday, day shift in our Cardiology Clinic.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be currently licensed as an LPN -OR- be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and be currently licensed as an RN in the state of Indiana.
- Maintains licensure and provides Director of Cardiac Rehab Services with any licensure renewals or changes.
- Must possess Basic Life Support (BLS) and ACLS certification or obtain prior to providing direct patient care. As well as maintain these certifications throughout employment. PALS certification is encouraged.
- Possess and demonstrates advanced ECG rhythm recognition.
- Ability to assess and command emergency situations and readily adapt to change.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Coordinates the total nursing care of the patient through the use of the nursing process and provides patient and family or significant other education regarding their procedure.
- Maintains standards of professional nursing practice for the pre and post test phase of the cardiopulmonary and diagnostic imaging patient, their family and/or significant other.
- Assess assigned patients for overall conditions and needs, coordinates and gives care appropriately including treatments, all medications, initiates and maintains IV therapy, blood/blood product administration, etc. Initiates and modifies care plans and goals. Prescribes appropriate nursing actions to meet the goals and the physical, psychological, social, and rehabilitative needs of the patient.
- Assist nuclear medicine as needed in the performance of nuclear stress testing and imaging.
- Assist physicians as needed to transcribe and implement physician’s orders appropriately and accurately. Report to the physician or appropriate person any pertinent observations, as well as reactions regarding patients and record these accurately in the medical record.
- Coordinate patient care with other team member. Additionally, assigns duties in accordance with patient’s needs, the personnel’s capabilities, and qualifications. Directs, supervises, and evaluates nursing care provided to patient.
- Performs assessments, interprets data, and delivers all nursing care with an age-appropriate focus.
- Assumes on call responsibilities for Cardiac Rehab and Diagnostic Imaging outpatient services.
