Join the Woodlawn Team as a Clerical Receptionist to float within our clinic locations!  The Clerical Float would rotate at the Akron, Argos, & Rochester clinics.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience in a medical office, hospital or long-term care facility highly recommended, not required.
  • CPR Certification
  • Good communication skills and pleasant phone technique as required handling various telephone and in-person communication with patients, guests, and other medical providers in a professional manner.
  • Ability to separate personal opinions and feelings from professional demands and responsibilities of the position.
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work in a multi-task environment where interruptions may be frequent.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality as defined by hospital policy and federal law.
  • Computer aptitude to do inquiry, data entry and daily system operations.
  • Math aptitude sufficient to balance and handle cash.
  • Ability to adapt to variations in scheduling (including but not limited to overtime, work schedule changes or low census).
  • Good visual and aural acuity

 PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • As the receptionist, you will interact with patients, guests and all others in a friendly, professional manner responding to questions or requests appropriately, whether in person or on the phone.
  • Obtain complete patient demographic and insurance information for system entry and check patients in for appointments in a timely manner.
  • Obtain insurance eligibility verification for all scheduled patients and ask for payment from the patient/guarantor at the time of service, if applicable, if payment was not made through automated registration software.
  • Handle cash, balance the daily charges and perform daily deposit. Deliver deposits to bank daily as needed. Schedules follow up appointments and manage patient list needing rescheduled.
  • Ensures that all telephone calls are answered promptly and handles or directs the calls appropriately.
  • Schedules appointments according to specified guidelines.
  • Performs office opening procedures and closing procedures independently as scheduled.
  • Sort incoming mail and incoming faxes and distribute accordingly.
  • Scan necessary patient health information into EHR, and route into corresponding patient charts, ensuring accuracy. Route incoming electronic faxes in EHR into patient charts.

Position: Monday-Friday; Days; Full-time
