Education and Certification:
- Registered Nurse (RN) required;
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare quality, patient safety, accreditation, regulatory readiness, performance improvement, or related healthcare leadership, including at least two (2) years of supervisory or management experience preferred.
Preferred Certifications:
- CPHRM (Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management).
- CPHQ (Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- CMS Conditions of Participation
- State and Federal healthcare regulations
- Accreditation standards.
- Quality improvement methodologies (PDSA, Lean, Six Sigma, RCA, FMEA)
- Patient Safety Organizations and reporting systems
- Healthcare quality metrics and benchmarking
- Infection prevention and patient safety principles
- Medical staff quality processes
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Leads the Quality Management Program.
- Develops departmental goals and performance measures.
- Directs the Performance Improvement Plan.
- Educates leaders and staff on quality initiatives.
Performance Improvement
- Oversees the QAPI Program.
- Monitors quality and performance metrics.
- Leads data-driven improvement initiatives.
Leadership
- Oversees Quality, Risk Management/Compliance, and assigned functions.
- Supervises leaders and manages resources.
- Promotes quality and patient safety education.
Patient Safety
- Oversees the Patient Safety Program.
- Reviews trends and implements improvements.
Data & Reporting
- Oversees quality data collection and reporting.
- Reports outcomes to leadership, Medical Staff, Board, and regulators.
- Uses benchmarking to drive improvement.
Medical Staff
- Partners with Medical Staff on quality priorities.
- Supports physician engagement and committees.
Committee Leadership
- Leads the Quality Improvement Committee.
- Collaborates on quality and patient safety initiatives.
Organizational Collaboration
- Partners with leadership on strategic initiatives.
- Serves as a quality resource.
- Promotes collaboration to improve patient outcomes.
