EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School diploma/GED or relevant experience preferred but not required.
  2. Medical assistance or phlebotomy training from an accredited organization preferred.
  3. Experience with phlebotomy, or experience in a medical laboratory environment preferred.
  4. CPR Certification.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Performs clerical functions, phlebotomy, general laboratory duties, and courier duties.
  • Must maintain patient confidentiality and limit use of PHI to minimal use.

SECONDARY DUTIES:

  • Have the ability to work well and effectively with others.
  • Must demonstrate ability to communicate well with patients, physician offices, physicians, and other departments of the hospital.
  • Responsible for filing of reports and other documents in the laboratory.
  • Must assist in taking reports and picking up specimens at reference clinics and nursing homes.
  • Responsible for driving to nursing homes to draw blood
  • Responsible for taking reports to doctor’s mailboxes.
  • Answers telephone according to hospital policy.
  • Perform order and inventory every two weeks, and restock when necessary.
  • Restocks drawing trays and outpatient drawing area.

Shift: Full-Time/Evenings -11:30a – 8p or 1p – 9:30p
