EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be registered by one of the following:
  • American Registry of Radiological Technologist (ARRT) with additional registry in Sonography (S)
  • American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
• Required Licensure with the State of Indiana.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Minimum of two years’ experience performing sonography procedures in a hospital environment preferred.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

• Performs ultrasound procedures, in a timely fashion, while demonstrating the appropriate knowledge and skills necessary to work with patients from pediatric through geriatric.
• Prepares and operates equipment and positions patients correctly in order to provide the requested diagnostic images for interpretation.
• Completes exams in a timely manner and verifies all information is provided to the Radiologist.
• Acquires adequate knowledge of the patients’ medical history to understand and relate to their illnesses, being responsive to those concerns.
• Works independent of others and in a timely manner.
• Follows all HIPAA regulations.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and reorders as needed.
• Functions as a team member and assists other departments within Diagnostic Imaging when necessary.
• Communicated effectively to other team members to provide quality patient care.
